Our Kneeling Savior! John 13:1-17

Hey ODPC!

Last Sunday’s message was from John 13 when Jesus washed His disciples’ feet.  What a beautiful picture of Jesus’ unconditional love for us!  Every time I focus on Jesus’ kneeling love for me I can’t help but be humbled and empowered to serve and love the people around me.

I pray that all my ODPC brothers and sisters will spend time reflecting on our Savior’s kneeling love for them this week so that we too will be able to kneel before others and serve each other.

May we never forget our Kneeling Savior!

I look forward to reading your comments.

Daniel

Thanks Pastor Daniel for the sermon last Sunday. It is amazing how different our Lord is from this world. The values of God’s Kingdom vs. the world could not be more opposite. When I was thinking about this passage, I realized that it was a temptation for me to gloss over what Christ did here because it is something I’ve read/heard/studied before. As I’ve been thinking a little more, I’m realizing that I am able to gloss over the gospel and “lose the wonder” (as some say) because I fail to see how great God is, and how lowly I am. If I see this passage in the context of the King of Kings, creator of the universe, coming down to serve me…then the passage again takes on the meaning and power it should. The fact that I don’t break out in spontaneous worship shows that I must regain the wonder of the gospel.

Hi David, I hear you loud and clear. May we never lose sight of the wonder of the gospel! I reflected on the kneeling love of the Savior again this morning and I was richly blessed! – Daniel
